It is with great sadness that we send this communique to inform you of the sudden passing of Tibor Kovacs on Saturday January 30th, 2021.
Tibor has been a member of the Don Rowing Club (DRC) for more than 15 years. More than a member, Tibor was tireless in his many and significant contributions to the Club and its members. An avid and skilled rower, having started rowing in his youth in Hungary with much success. At DRC, Tibor avidly contributed his skill, enthusiasm, and fellowship to everyone in the crew, and in boats of all sizes and types. He was a master steering from the bow seat in morning twilight. Off the water he fixed everything that needed fixing on the fleet, on his own initiative with no request: he simply got it done so that we all could enjoy rowing, the sport he so loved. Tibor was a dear friend and crew mate- he made a profound impact on the well-being of the Club and its members. He will be so very dearly missed.
