Youth Summer Camp 2017

Youth Summer Camp 2017

The Summer Youth Rowing Camp is geared towards youth who want to learn how to row. The Camp sessions are one week long, run from 9am – 4pm, Monday through to Friday. All participants are asked to bring their own lunches.

Over the five days participants will learn and build rowing skills indoors using our rowing machines (ergs), indoor tank, and then progress to rowing on the Credit River. Please wear athletic clothing, bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Additionally, we row rain or shine – so bring rain gear if required.

We encourage youth to sign up for multiple sessions! Attending several camp sessions is a great way to quickly develop your rowing skills. After completing one session, returning participants will be given the opportunity to get right back to rowing on the water. Camp coaches will give them more advanced drills and coaching to develop their rowing skills.

The cost of each session is $280 + HST. Please remember that this is a youth program so registrants must be between 13 – 18 years old.

At the end of the Summer Youth Rowing Camp sessions, we invite all participants to join Level 1 of the Junior Competitive program in the fall.

A word about the weathe

We normally row rain or shine, however, safety is always the first consideration. If we are unable to row outdoors dur to the weather, don’t worry, we will move indoors and practice in the tank. It’s important to dress appropriately for the weather, including rain gear when required.
